I have been to Chef’s Noodle last week and been wanting to go back ever since. My first time there was a very good experience. I usually avoid those unfamiliar or foreign dishes. But with Chef’s Noodle, I am glad to be able to experience a very good Korean-fusion meals.
Since I am not really familiar to the location, with my friend, Yani, we patiently took the scorching heat of the afternoon sun. Took the train, got off and took another train again. In less than an hour, we reached our destination. Chef’s Noodle is located in the 2nd floor of University Mall in Taft area. A very inviting facade welcomed us to the store.
Chef’s Noodle is a fast-casual dining restaurant concept whose core products are noodles, sushi, and rice meals.
I also got excited seeing a familiar face right before we entered the restaurant. Then I learned its the Award-Winning Korean Chef, Choi In Sun who formulated Chef’s Noodle’s dishes. While Grace Lee is their endorser.
The place was well-lighted with simple but elegant sets of table, chairs and couch on the other side. Their counter displays their simple menu line up. Everything looks really delicious and all of ‘em are affordable.
With the riches of colors and vibrants of the place, we were excited for our food. We ordered almost everything!
1st Stop: SUSHI
Starking Fire Sushi. The pride and signature sushi of Chef’s Noodle. This was cooked, I mean torched right in front of us. Really amazing!
Kimbap. Nori-wrapped rice rolls with Korean ham, radish, cucumber and egg.
2nd Stop: SOUPS & NOODLES
Chef’s Noodle. The restaurant’s own noodles topped with tamago, spouts, fried tofu, jun-ya, kuchai, and their secret beef broth.
Jjampong. This is the famous Korean spicy seafood noodles. It looked super spicy because of the color of the soup, but surprisingly, I loved it. The spiciness is just right that it the taste is still there complimenting all the other ingredients.
Japchae. Sweet potato noodles (dangmyeon) stir fried in sesame oil with vegetables and cooked bulgogi. I was not really sure about the taste of the soy sauce or the seasoning that was used. Maybe it was just not compatible with my taste buds.
3rd Stop. MAINS & PANCAKES
Wanja Steak Jun. Chef’s Noodle’s version of burger steak. Wanja Steak Jun is a mixture of ground chicken, pork, beef and spices pan-fried and served with a slice of cheese and fried egg. Just a normal burger steak to me.
Leek Shrimp Twigim. Deep fried kutchai battered in our special blend of buthai shrimp mix. This one was just super salty for me. Plus the soy sauce, it makes it more more salty.
4th Stop: RICE MEALS
Don Kas. Chef’s Noodle version of breaded fried pork fillet that’s also popular with kids and kids at heart.
Spicy Pork Dupbap. Rice topped with tamago, fresh sprouts, Gochu, Korean chili paste, and grilled pork marinated in special Jae Yuk (Spicy) Sauce.
Curry Dupbap. Rice topped with tamago, fresh sprouts, Gochu, Korean chili paste, and our very own Beef Curry.
5th Stop: SIDE DISHES & ADD-ONS
Spicy Ddukbokki. A very popular Korean comfort food made of rice and fish cakes cooked in sweet and spicy chili sauce.
Kimchi. Probably the most popular food in Korea, Kimchi is fermented cabbage and bell pepper in Korean chili.
6th Stop: BEVERAGES
The food was EPIC, the service was great, and by the time we left the place was packed! I’m writing this the week after, and I’m already wanting to go back tomorrow. Definitely a keeper in my books.
